According to media reports, Dr. Zhou Yuefeng, President of Huawei's Data Storage Product Line, recently attended the MWC 2024 conference and showcased a new generation OceanStor Arctic magneto electric storage solution designed for Warm Data and Cold Data. It is reported that Huawei's disruptive magneto electric hard drive (MED) is a significant innovation in magnetic storage media. The first generation MED was mainly a large capacity hard drive, with a rack capacity of over 10PB and a power consumption of less than 2kW. Compared to mechanical hard drives, it can save up to 90% of power, while compared to magnetic tape storage, it can save 20% of costs. Huawei stated that for the first generation MED, it will mainly focus on archive storage and plans to release it in overseas markets in the first half of 2025.

Dongwu Securities released a research report stating that as overseas large factories continue to reduce crop turnover and reduce inventory, the storage sector has rebounded from the bottom in Q3 and entered an upward trend in price.
